Lesbian socks!

So I was browsing the lesbian liberal feminist blogosphere today, as I often do, and stumbled upon this. A new children’s book: Dottie the lesbian sock.

Little queer sock

Dottie has always been a happy sock until she discovers, she is the only sock without a pair. Now Dottie is on a mission to find her pair. She won’t give up until she finds it.

She asks her Mom.
She asks her Dad.
She asks her Sister.
She asks her Brother.
She even asks her Nana and Papa.

She doesn’t find her pair, until she looks inside of herself and follows her heart.

What a great description of lesbian dating rituals! We ask our immediate family to set us up on dates. (JOKING. Really, very much joking!)

After Ellen has more about it. I like the idea of “changing the world one book at a time” although I’m unsure about “the perfect pair” as a concept… Searching for an identical partner doesn’t sound very embracing of diversity but hey, I haven’t read the book so am reserving judgement for now.
